I had the same problem last night.
Try to make sure you and drogo both stand as close to the green minimap icon as possible, thats how I finished it.

The guy drops a heart which is needed for the quest, and you have to get the heart. If it isn't dropping, chances are it got assigned to a henchman. You'll have to leave the zone and try again.
Had a similar thing happen last night. The heart was assigned to a group member who had already completed the quest. He just left it so I could loot it after waiting so long.

I managed to get the drop. However, when I went back to Dark Oak and gave him the Bloody Heart the quest was updated but I never got to hear any warning or vision that it implied he had. Oh well, the 2500 experience was quite nice anyway. I must have missed doing the quest with the first character I had as I don't remember it at all, so I suppose I could try again.

A quicker way to do this might have been for him to grab the item and then immediately drag it out of his inventory onto the ground. This allows anyone to pick it up.

It was pretty easy for me.. I encountered drogo while walking towards the spirit, killed him not knowing I had to slay him and he dropped the heart, then it said quest updated, and I could already go back for my reward

That happened to me today. It totally bites that I help to kill the darn thing, but I don't get credit for the quest because the heart went to another player. If the game is about teamwork, then the quest should update for all party members in on the fight. If f***nutter standing back at the zone swirly-gate doesn't help, well then too d*** bad, but for the rest of us, WHERE IS MY CREDIT???

I thought so too, but actually when you are in a party and the one who got the heart drop brings it back to the spirit, the quest gets updated for everyone. It just doesn't update the kill-part until the heart is brought back.

i can also confirm that you only need 1 heart for the party to complete the quest.
however, there is a bug where henchies get assigned quest drops.

Next time try killing the boss before finding the Druid to talk to. I've done it twice that way and its worked fine for me. Much faster too, as the boss should be on the way to the druid, I dont' get how people miss him getting to the druid in the first place.

If you go around the north of the area and then down the western side you can get to the transition to the area with the Dark Oak without going near Drogo, that's the way I went.
I didn't get any information from the spirit either when I finished the quest. I gave him the heart and then just got a quest log message saying to return to the guy who started the quest. He then said something along the lines of "This is terrible news indeed", but I have no idea what the news was. Did I miss something by maybe moving away from the spirit too soon, or does it just not tell you what the warning was?
